Beauty Benefits of Honey!

You must have noticed that honey is used in a lot of beauty products. Mostly shampoos, body lotions and face masks. Do you know why? Honey has a lot of natural healing properties, but it’s not the honey that you can easily buy from your local grocery store. We are talking about raw and unpasteurised honey.  Do you want to know how honey can be part of your beauty regimen? We at Source Beauty have summed it up for you.

DIY Mask

Raw honey can help unclog pores while simultaneously delivering moisture to dry skin. If you have been suffering from dry skin due to the weather changes or you just need a hydration boost mid-week, this DIY mask is a must-try. Apply a thin layer of raw honey to slightly damp skin using circular motions. Leave the mask for at least 30 minutes and then gently rinse it off with lukewarm water.

Spot Treatment

If you’re suffering from a breakout, use raw honey rather than an overly drying over-the-counter pimple cream. Applying a little honey on the acne spot and it will add a whole new level of anti-bacterial goodness. For a  little extra boost, mix honey with tea tree oil and lavender oil for additional natural detoxification.

You can exfoliate your skin once or twice a week using one of our favourite products the  Earthowls, Milk and Honey Scrub. It delicately exfoliates dry skin on your arms, legs and feet which is packed with a whole host of amazing ingredients that will hydrate your skin. Honey\’s mild exfoliating ability leaves you with fresh, smooth skin by gently removing dead skin cells that will clog pores which results in dull-looking skin.

Bath Soak

As the season\’s change, your skin can go into overdrive trying to rebalance itself, leading to overly sensitive, dry skin. Incorporating warm baths with soothing ingredients can keep your skin get back on track. Add two cups of raw honey to a running warm bath where you will create skin-smoothing bliss. You can also opt to use a cleanser like Indigo, Honey Bunny which will definitely give that extra hydration kick.
