DIY Beauty Masks

A good face mask has the ability to cure all your problems. They’re just as incredible at removing the stresses of a hard day at work as they are at removing impurities and unwanted blemishes from your skin. They come in a number of forms whether it be a clay mask, sheet mask, or foam mask, but maybe it’s time to look a little closer to home when deciding to do your next face mask. DIY masks are a great way to achieve a clearer complexion, and chances are you probably already have all the ingredients ready to go in your pantry. Check out these easy DIY beauty masks that will help you get brighter, clearer skin. 

Brightening Honey Citrus Mask

With only two ingredients, this mask will work to help give dull skin a brighter, more natural glow. Simply mix three tablespoons of 100% natural orange juice with a quarter cup of honey and apply to your face leaving it for approximately 15 minutes. Once done, rinse off with warm water and don’t forget to apply moisturiser immediately after. 

Hydrating Avocado Mask

If you’re someone who tends to have dry skin, working in a nourishing face mask into your routine will drastically help you. This natural ingredients in this face mask work to retain moisture into your skin without leaving it oily. It works well to also diminish the appearance of any dark spots or blemishes. Simply mix half an avocado, one tablespoon of honey, and a handful of oats in a bowl. Once mixed, apply to your face and leave on for 15 minutes for ample results.

Glowing Turmeric Mask

Turmeric is a wonderful ingredient for beauty. This spice holds a lot of properties that have the ability to improve your complexion. It’s known for having anti-inflammatory properties that work when applied topically. Mix together one tablespoon of plain yoghurt, one tablespoon of honey, and one tablespoon of turmeric. Leave on your skin for 15 minutes before rinsing. The combination of these ingredients work together to lift and remove impurities, whilst retaining moisture. This mask will give your skin a natural brightening glow and work to reduce the appearance of blemishes and acne. 

Pollution Fighting Mask

Living in Egypt, there’s no question that the pollution can sometimes get the better of our skin. This mask is an easy, simple way to effectively clean off any dirt and grime that may have accumulated throughout the day. Mix a handful of ground almonds with two tablespoons of olive oil. Leave it on for 10 minutes before massaging the paste into your skin to dislodge any dirt. The fatty acids in the almonds will gently exfoliate your skin whilst leaving it smooth and supple, whilst the vitamin e in the olive oil will create a barrier and protect your skin.
